Name[edit]

Should this be Karwari Catholics? Karwarean seems so odd.I have not known any Karwari Catholic but I doubt it is ever used by the people themselves--Deepak D'Souza 15:00, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I too feel the same way. People from Karwar call themselves "Karwaris", not "Karwareans". There exists no such term. So, the proper term should be "Karwari Catholics", instead of Karwarean. I have also googled and not come up with this term. So, i can only assume that Sanfy made a mistake while translating. Joyson Noel (talk) 18:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Moved the article to Karwari Catholics. --Deepak D'Souza 02:39, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A useful reference[edit]

To the person who chooses to undertake the difficult task of expanding this article and therefore is in need of sources, I would like to suggest a book i recently purchased that mentions the Catholics of North Canara in great detail. Check out “History of Christians in Coastal Karnataka, (1500 – 1763 A.D.) by Pius Fidelis Pinto. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 07:29, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
