Notable record[edit]

In addition to her assists records, Barefoot is the first basketball player to record 2000 points and 1000 assists in a career for any NCAA division, male or female.

One of Barefoot's claims to fame "the first basketball player to record 2000 points and 1000 assists in a career for any NCAA division, male or female", is reported in multiple reliable sources. However, when a claim is made that's a record in a record book, I like to look at the original records. Those records, used as a footnote (currently footnote number 5 "Division III Women's Basketball Records" (PDF). Retrieved 23 July 2019.) Support the statement about assists but not about points. I was concerned about including a claim that didn't seem to be backed up by NCAA record so I wrote to the NCAA. They responded that I was correct in noting the omission, but they did some research and confirmed that the claim is correct. They update the record books approximately once a year so it won't be reported in the record books until the next year's record book is published.--S Philbrick(Talk) 19:53, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
