Partners and Fictional History?????[edit]

Where Is the Partners and Fictional history section? All superhero pages have those and it seems that this is missing it so I suggest those should be added to give more informations to the readers GGGG0988 (talk) 06:33, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All superhero pages have those. Not all but most. Most of those sections are also rife with WP:FANCRUFT, WP:IN-UNIVERSE perspective, and WP:PLOTONLY descriptions. This is a major issue that plagues a lot of comic book articles. Keep in mind, this is a WP:GOODARTICLE focusing on the encyclopedic aspects of the character. For detailed plot summaries, I suggest you try a fan site like marvel.fandom.com.—-TriiipleThreat (talk) 09:43, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Characterization section[edit]

From the previous comments, I see that this article is written differently than other articles, because it is a WP:Good article and has to follow specific guidelines. However, I believe we are missing details on who Khan is and how she is characterized or described. These can be very generally understood from the "Publication history" section, but that sections describes the comics that she is featured in, and do not give much character details.

What I am looking for is a section such as this Jabba_the_Hutt#Characterization or Baron_Munchausen#Fictional_character, which discuss more of the character's background and story. This can be done in a "out of universe" style per MOS:PLOT. Natg 19 (talk) 00:10, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Embiggen (Cultural Impact)[edit]

Google's ngram search shows that embiggen's popularity was already on the rise before 2014 and dropped off a bit in that year. See https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=embiggen&year_start=1996&year_end=2019&corpus=26&smoothing=0 ADREY talk 20:02, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Powers and Abilities[edit]

All superhero articles that I've seen on Wikipedia have a Powers and Abilities section but this one. Would anyone know why that is? Airros (talk) 19:36, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Airros[reply]

Then WP:JUSTDOIT if you can and/or want to? InfiniteNexus (talk) 06:03, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copy edit[edit]

I did a basic reorganization and added some missing info. I'll continue to try and add in missing sources. This article hasn't gone through GAR since it became a GA in 2014. I've put a request in for copy-editing help over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests#Kamala Khan with the intention of requesting a GAR after that is completed if needed. The Guild has quite a bit of backlog so it might be a month or two until an editor is free to handle the request. Sariel Xilo (talk) 01:38, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Article structure and plot details[edit]

@MikeAllen and 103.104.117.205: I don't think we need a bunch of internal anchors to bounce readers around the article; for example "For critical reaction to the character's 2019 death, see § 2019–2022" is unneeded as this is literally directly above this section. That "critical reaction" is also a single sentence with a weak source (website part of the FanSided group; unclear on their editorial standards). I don't think we need to over emphasize a four issue Secret Warriors Champions arc (where Kamala's died in a timeline that was rewritten) that didn't receive much critical coverage, wasn't marketed by Marvel as a big death and wasn't followed up elsewhere. Versus something like the Outlawed event or her upcoming ASM death which did receive news coverage. Also, a bunch of duplicate links (mostly to series and character names) were introduced and should be removed. (Sidenote - in the "Critical reaction" section, I only changed the subheading "Death" to "Death in 2023" because the IP editor added an anchor to "death" which superseded the heading.) It may be time to request temporary page protection, especially if IP doesn’t engage in conversation. Mike Allen 21:39, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Mike, I engage in conversation, we were talking at our talk pages and are moving the discussion here. Sariel, it was a Champions arc, not a Secret Warriors arc, and the main overarching focus of the volume as a whole, of which the consequences are still felt to this day, in being the reason for the end of Kamala and Miles' friendship, and Miles having made a deal with the devil (like Peter, Otto, Ben, and Norman). I think it should be noted in the lede with Champions as briefly as something like "the 2019 third run of which explored Kamala's death and revival", then where it mentions her 2023 death can specify it was her second death. And it was not an alternate timeline Kamala that died, it was literally just her being killed, and time turned back, reversed. It might seem like semantics, but that is a very different thing in fiction, as otherwise it would indicate there to be a world where Kamala and Viv died, then Miles and Amadeus disappeared to the past of an alternate timeline. Which was not what happened, because it was not time travel, but a reversal of all time of the Marvel Universe by its devil. 103.104.117.205 (talk) 21:42, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You need to stop adding anchors when we're at WP:3RR & you should self-revert those edits. Again, I don't think we need these at all as other articles aren't linked to them and we don't need a bunch to jump around the article internally. Re: we were talking at our talk pages is a stretch; I added warning notices (not using edit summary, edit war), suggested we start a discussion here and when you started a discussion on your talk page, I opened a discussion here and flagged that at your talk page.
In terms of plot details, timeline is the word CBR uses (The key moment in his decision comes at the end, however, at ground zero in Dubai, as it's revealed the woman Miles initially saved ends up dying in this new timeline 1). Your description of the "semantics" seems like your analysis of plot details; we should use the description of events from reliable secondary sources. Similarly, if it is "still being felt to this day", then there should be new coverage about it (ie. a review of subsequent issue or series mentions how this Champions plot point comes up or impacts a current story). Just leaving a notice that I'm going to start copy editing as the IP editor hasn't responded here. Sariel Xilo (talk) 21:54, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for finding an additional review instead of reverting everything. 103.104.117.205 (talk) 12:12, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You still haven't addressed why you're adding in a bunch of unneeded anchors. Are there other articles specifically linking to these anchors? Sariel Xilo (talk) 16:28, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
