5,000 light years away[edit]

Doesn't this assume the person reading this is on Earth? That's not very sensitive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.91.240.73 (talk) 16:48, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2,850 R[edit]

Is the 2,850 R for KY Cygni even obsolete? I think it is. --Joey P. - THE OFFICIAL (Visit/Talk/Contribs) 19:04, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't exactly obsolete; it was published at the same time as the other radius value in the starbox. However, as discussed in the paper and the article, there are reasons to be suspicious of it. Lithopsian (talk) 11:14, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

KY Cyg a YHG?[edit]

This ref: [1] lists KY Cyg as a yellow hypergiant, where did that claim come from and is it even possible that the star is? Nussun05 (talk) 20:59, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Its been listed as a hypergiant in several papers, even gets a mention in The Yellow Hypergiants, although not as a yellow hypergiant. They don't say where they got the list from, or with what criteria, but it certainly looks like a mistake. Lithopsian (talk) 21:13, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
