Fair use rationale for Image:Logo kxjz.gif[edit]

Image:Logo kxjz.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Adding Background and History[edit]

The about section of the capradio.org website has some history. I would like to suggest adding a synopsis of the history of the radio station. http://www.capradio.org/about Mylesgoins (talk) 01:03, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • ... that a report about Ronald Reagan not paying taxes by a student reporter on Sacramento radio station KERS resulted in an interview by a California state agent and a commendation by journalists? Source: [1] [2]

  • @Raymie: The article has been expanded enough for a DYK and passes everything. I have to commend you for a very interesting hook and it is sad that articles can only get a DYK once since this one has a lot of possible great hooks. - Jon698 (talk) 11:48, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Approved hook ... that a report about Ronald Reagan not paying taxes by a student reporter on Sacramento radio station KERS resulted in an interview by a California state agent and a commendation by journalists? Source: [3] [4]
  • Hook in prep ... that when Sacramento radio station KERS broadcast a student report on Ronald Reagan not having paid state income tax, it resulted in an interview by a California state agent and a journalistic commendation?

@Raymie, Cwmhiraeth, Jon698, and Ravenpuff: The above hook was altered while in prep, making it slightly longer than the hook limit. That is easily fixed. However, in looking at it, and comparing it to the source, the interview with the special agent of the California State Franchise Board never happened. At least, that's how I read it. She made an appointment with the agent, who showed up and told her he needed to talk to her in private. She refused, and told the agent she would not reveal her source. The agent said he would go elsewhere for his investigation. — Maile (talk)

I read that as she still had conversations with him... @Maile66: You think the hook needs a revision to reflect that? Raymie (tc) 21:28, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, an interview would involve questions and answers. Yes? So, greeting somebody at the door and letting them know you're refusing to give information, and the person turning around and leaving, doesn't sound like an interview. Yes, it could be reworded to say (after the comma) "but she refused to reveal her sources to a state agent ." Or something of that nature. — Maile (talk) 21:39, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Raymie: @Cwmhiraeth: @Jon698: @Ravenpuff: further to the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Did_you_know_nominations/KXJZ_-_in_Prep_5, I have removed it from prep 5 and am reopening it so that any issues can be resolved. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 21:12, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Amakuru: I'm going to propose an ALT2 (196 characters)... Raymie (tc) 17:33, 11 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ALT2: ... that professional journalists commended a student reporter for Sacramento radio station KERS for not revealing her source on a story about Ronald Reagan not paying taxes as Governor of California?
Approve ALT2. It's within policy, and stated in the source. @Cwmhiraeth and Yoninah: do either of you want to put this back in a prep? — Maile (talk) 01:52, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
