Update and improve article[edit]

It is my intention, now that the station that is the subject of this article has returned to air, to:

I anticipate that there will be significant changes made to the article as I move forward. Any feedback as I make changes is appreciated. -Chrjaques (talk) 18:53, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the Article from KTEQ to KTEQ-FM which is the legal FCC call sign for the station (as can be found using the FCC external link in the article). I have changed many of the links in other articles to the proper callsign, including the two templates it was included in. My next task will be some more research, particularly into WCAT. As WCAT left the air in 1952, I will be heading out to the Rapid City Public Library this weekend to examine their microfiche records of Rapid City Journal articles from the 1920s through the 1950s, as well as potentially some from the 1910s as I have heard about another possible radio station on campus before WCAT. -Chrjaques (talk) 14:13, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Station History[edit]

Much of the unreferenced portions of the station history appear to come from various documents listed on the history page of the KTEQ-FM website, these include: "The History of KTEQ" aka the Aldrich Report which appears to be a paper written by a SDSM&T Student for senior level humanities course; "KTEQ Frequency Change: 88.1 MHz → 91.3 MHz" which appears to be co-written by the manager of KTEQ at the time of the change and a more recent SDSM&T graduate. I am interested in hearing the thoughts of others as to whether these should be considered valid sources. I have spent time at the local library going through the microfilm copies of the local newspaper and there are few mentions of the station that far back, so finding other sources may be impossible. WCAT History[edit]

When I started this article on October 21, 2005, much of the WCAT information came from a centennial book about the history of SDSM&T called "CENTENNIAL: An Illustrated History 1885-1985" (published by the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Rapid City, South Dakota, copyright 1985). The book was printed by Walsworth Publishing Co., Inc. of Marceline, Missouri, USA. Information about WCAT came from an article in the book entitled "A Pioneer in Radio Work" (which appeared on page 78 of this book). The article itself did not appear to cite any sources.Brianhass (talk) 07:59, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
