Initials in name[edit]

Whoo! I actually get to respond to someone I know in RL! ^_^ I've popped this on your fb profile too, but you (and others) might look here first:

They're most likely his father's initials. Some Indian names (typically Southern Indian, if I remember rightly) use the initials of their father before them, so the cricketer L. Sivaramakrishnan would occasionally be incorrectly referred to as Laxman (his father's name) despite his only name being Sivaramakrishnan.

I might be wrong though, since I'm not entirely certain of the facts. If I've got any of it wrong then I'd be grateful if a nice Wikipedian would help us lotsly. Alfirin (talk) 14:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
