This page says that Jumanji was written in 1982, but the page about the book dates it as 1981. I don't know which is correct, but I thought I'd point out the inconsistency. --Sigafoos —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 01:02, August 23, 2007 (UTC).

Error in Write-Up

Concerning this line near the end of the summary: 

    'Jim (who has been hired by Alan and Sarah to work on the house) and Martha.'

When Jim has been hired to work in marketing at the shoe factory. When he and Martha mention their upcoming ski trip in the Canadian Rockies, the Parrishes respond that he should start to work right away because they want him to "get to work on the new line" of shoes.

Saying that the plot summary too long

I like the lengthy plot summaries. I don't know any place to get a good plot summary of movies. The plot summaries on imdb are only a few sentences whereas the detailed ones on wikipedia include a great deal of helpful information. You're entitled to your opinion, but Wikipedia policy disagrees with you: see WP:PLOT. Personally I think it's way, way too long. It should just be a summary, and not attempt to describe every scene. Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I personally think that some parts of the summary are incomplete. A lot of story from the early parts of the movie seem to be left out or unaccounted. For example: 

     'Alan and Samuel make up and Alan confesses to leaving the shoe in the shredder'

Diplomats in shoe factory

In one scene Judy mentions that their parents died while "negotiating peace in Israel" which sounds like they would be in some sort of diplomatic role. Bradley Pierce

Is there any reason why Bradley Pierce is not listed with the main cast (instead relegated to the "also includes" paragraph)? He's arguably one of the 4 leads of the film and plays a larger role than Bebe Neuwirth and David Alan Grier who are listed in the main cast section.108.46.147.132 (talk) 15:26, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Just the same question I asked to one who undid my changes to Jumanji before you did the same: What source of legacy confirmation while scene similarity have to be as? Uploaded to wikipedia episode of corresponding series??? No any info posted anywhere at the internet about that. Only evidence is series episode itself. Can you point where to read about such one confirmation posting to Wikipedia please? That's a little hard to follow, but I think I get the gist. We need reliable third party sources to show notability when including comments and info. There was none for the item you added - and as you pointed out none for others either. I added a source for one claim, and removed the other. I think that's a great film worth being spotted when replicated anywhere. But still there's no any 'classic' sources as URL references exists. Probably not. If there are no sources to support your viewpoint, then it's not notable. You can't upload images from films just to try and corroborate your opinion - at the very least they would fail NFCC free image criteria. Also in this instance, WP:TRIVIA is in effect. Ending scene

As indicated in this article from Screen Rant and the opening sequence of Welcome to the Jungle, Alex's father finds it on the beach nearby while jogging, a clear reference to Jumanji's fate at the end of the first film. While we usually go by what's depicted in the film, secondary sources are allowed in the plot section as per WP:FILMPLOT.

Any ideas on how we can deal with the final sentence in the plot summary? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 12:34, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

It's not an issue of whether a source is appropriate; it's whether the sequel should be mentioned at all. I don't think it should. The note is already misleading - it says "As depicted in the film's 2017 sequel", implying some connection that didn't exist when this film was made. It's also depicted in the sequel, i.e. the sequel picks up where this left off, but it doesn't impact this film's plot in any way, and linking to the sequel in this manner is unnecessary - any tie-ins to this film should be fine to mostly cover in the sequel's article. --Fru1tbat (talk) 17:35, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
The note needs to be removed as inappropriate because when this movie came out there was no second movie. I don't know why other Wikipedia article which follows suit... I mean should we add tie-ins for books too? - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 17:41, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
