Family and Personal Information

The first wife of Sgt Maj Joseph W Dailey, the former Leone Paul, whom he married on 18 Jun 1942, predeceased him on 5 November 1987. She is buried at the Pleasant Grove City Cem at Pleasant Grove, Salt Lake, Utah. A photograph of the companion g.s. in the cemetery (accessed 11 Feb 2010 at www.findagrave.com) indicates his grave site was reserved next to her at the time of setting of the marker. Whether he was actually buried there is a matter for further investigation. Joseph W Dailey and Leone Paul Dailey were active members of the LDS church at the time of their deaths according to the Deceased Member Records of the church, available at www.familysearch.org (within the IGI). Leone was an accomplished family historian. He was probably one of the highest profile Mormons in the US military; further investigation of this phase of his biography during the Vietnam era, plus links to the LDS biographical wikis, might be merited. Should we add the Korean War Service Medal to the page? Information about the award can be found at https://www.afpc.af.mil/About/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/421898/republic-of-korea-korean-war-service-medal/
