Copyvio[edit]

I don't see a copyvio in the current version. It's not particularly detailed, but it's also not verbatim copied to the external source suggested. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 08:09, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Neiter did I. Maybe some sentences were a little bit to close to the referenced sources, but this is a work in progress and (as I wrote in the edit summary) I'm having intentions to extend the article without any copyvio. Even the early version (that was told to be a copyvio) included information from both sources. But, as I said, maybe the original text was to close to the original(s), this is however now fixed. - David Björklund (talk) 16:27, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Modern scholarship section[edit]

This content has been in the biography for 12 years. It seems highly suspect and unusual, given that the book has nothing to do with Lewis at all, and the argument that is made is polemical and tendentious in nature. Viriditas (talk) 23:09, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mitchell's book cites Lewis's book three times but appears to only mention Lewis once (p.78). I would simply remove that section as WP:UNDUE; Mitchell's book is about the Catholic Church in Spain, and even if he says something critical about Lewis's book about Spain, it doesn't seem relevant. Support per nomination and BD2412. This article was created in November 2005 and remained as the primary topic until it was unilaterally moved to Joseph Lewis (freethinker) in October 2008 with the edit summary "Does not merit primacy". In July 2010 it was again unilaterally moved, this time to Joseph L. Lewis, with the edit summary "Less cumbersome title with middle initial". I would support either the redlinked nominated form, per William McIlroy (secularist), Frank Ridley (secularist) and Charles Watts (secularist) or a restoration of the 2008 move to the still-existing redirect, Joseph Lewis (freethinker), per Logan Mitchell (freethinker) and George Whale (freethinker). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 04:47, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
