Confusion of two John Talbot Dillons[edit]

The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography states that John Talbot Dillon the author has dates (1734–1806), while the baronet has dates (1740?–1805); and that the distinction was only clearly made in the 1950s. Well, it can be arrived at also through family history.

In any case, I'm splitting the article, since there has been a confusion here, and the old Dictionary of National Biography perpetuated it. Charles Matthews (talk) 20:39, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
