Controversy over the man & the monument

I have happened to see a number of items about the controversy about the man & the monument. In light of this, I think that that it is questionable whether the article is neutral. I suspect that some would see this as an understatement, but I would ask them to see the WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS portion of the WP:Tendentious editing essay. We need verification from reliable sources to correct the narative.
