Kill Point

Lol someone put "despite high ratings the show was not renewed for a second season." Did you even watch the show? It was a mini-series and most of the characters died, It wasn't supposed to go on any longer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.188.220.222 (talk) 15:13, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Filmography

The movie list in the article should be integrated into the filmography when someone has a chance. Michael 05:37, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Jewish?

Is John Jewish? Or Jewish for his wife? I dunno, it's something random I heard, can't really find a source or citation on it. --Htmlism 15:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

His wife is Jewish (162.83.224.249 20:57, 8 December 2006 (UTC))
John Leguizamo is a bonafide Jew and has said so many times on television. I'm fixing the article to include this. It's common knowledge and I'm not even sure how it made it here.207.38.156.111 (talk) 05:47, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to translate this article to Spanish. ¿Can someone give some tips? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Link-JtoX (talkcontribs) 15:11, 5 January 2007 (UTC).

mother/grandmother?

nothing mentioned about where his mom and grandmothers were from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gwen2105 (talkcontribs) 05:01, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Return to Broadway

Why is that sentance in the beginning of the article?76.120.103.127 (talk) 06:21, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

music and comedy carreer?

John has at least one album, Live, and probably others, as well as numerous comedy specials. and has appeared in at least one video for TOny Touch that I know of. Why isn't this mentioned in his biography. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.32.90.119 (talk) 06:38, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Puerto Rican

Although it is mentioned in the article I believe it should also be stated in the opening line. Seeing as Leguizamo mentions his Puerto Rican roots more often in his work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Borinquen252 (talkcontribs) 15:52, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Puerto Rican roots? Many Puerto Ricans have different roots. Some come from Spain, some come from Germany, some are a mixed of Taino and Black, some are tri racial and so on.Secret killer (talk) 06:06, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

NYU Reference

How can the article not mention once any relationship between Leguizamo and NYU, then go ahead and state in the footer as 'NYU ALumni'. Needs to be fixed.207.38.156.111 (talk) 05:48, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Mexican-American Culture?

According to the article, Mexican-American culture is his main topic of discussion. However, he is not Mexican-American nor did he grow up in a heavily Mexican-American area. Personally, I have heard him do a bit where he impersonates someone else who happens to be Mexican-American, but I wouldn't say that it's his main topic of discussion. His own Puerto Rican and Colombian roots and upbringing in New York City and Hispanic/Latino culture in general seem to be bigger topics to him than Mexican-American culture in particular. I'm guessing that an editor from a heavily Mexican-American area added that part in. It's hard to cite stuff like this, but I felt it was worth adding it to the discussion. Protected

I have protected this page due to the controversy which the statments made by John Leguizamo's father, that he (the father) is not "Puerto Rican", but "Colombian", thereby denying John any claim to a Puerto Rican heritage. In all fairness we must wait to until John replies and tells the world what is exactly is going on and who is telling the truth. He must answer the following question: Is he half Puerto Rican or not? Once he has spoken I will unprotect the page and make what-ever changes need to be made. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Leguizamo is not Puerto Rican

Please edit this article so that is reflects his 100% Colombian heritage, and the fact that he lied to the Puerto Rican people for decades in order to gain the community support he knows he wouldn't have had if he had admitted to being Colombian from the beginning. His father showed his passport to El Diario, which proved he was born in Colombia and not Puerto Rico like Leguizamo has claimed. Minimal research required here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.27.16.125 (talk) 02:29, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

  • As I stated above, the proper edits and changes will be made as soon as John Leguizamo makes an official statement. We do not know if the person claiming to be his father is really his father and what were the circumstances which led up to this revelation. If within a week (June 18th) John does not make a statement, then we will assume that he has been lying all along and the changes will be made. Thank you - Tony the Marine (talk) 03:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Unprotected

After a week, in which the father of John Leguizamo stated that his son lied about his heritage and that his son was not Half-Puerto Rican, it is determined that Leguizamo's father told the truth and that his son John had lied about being half-Puerto Rican. John Leguizamo had enough time to make a public statement to this respect and did not do so. I, therefore have unprotected the article and have made the proper edits to the article. I removed any portal, category and any mention which may be misleading and indicate that John Leguizamo is half-Puerto Rican and/or may be of Puerto Rican heritage. Tony the Marine (talk) 05:12, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

According to this, Leguizamo says that his grandfather was of Puerto Rican descent - [1]. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 09:11, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Ghetto Klown

I had the pleasure of witnessing John Leguizamo's sparkling performance in Ghetto Klown at the Charing Cross Theatre,London on the 31st October,2011 in which he recounted his early acting training experience with his first teacher. He was later fortunate to be accepted as a student in Lee Strasberg classes. This fact is omitted in his personal history. Mr Strasberg told John that he needed to be more convincing in his portayal of a dog- so John bit Mr Strasberg on the nose. 80.1.119.175 (talk) 01:19, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

  • If you can provide us with a verifiable source which we can cite, I am sure that some one will be more then happy to add it. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:33, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Marriage to Yelba Osorio

John Leguizamo married less famous actress Yelba Osorio in 1994, and they divorced in 1996. I remember seeing her in House of Buggin' and The Pest (she played Malaria). But I did not see her name on John's wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.217.28.60 (talk) 18:50, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Puerto Rican?

Turns out he might not be Puerto Rican at all and it was just a part of his act in a city where the number of Puerto Ricans are high. His father is making this claim. Discuss? See link: [2] Savvyjack23 (talk) 15:56, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Updating Filmography?

Anyone want to update this? I'm no good at adding content, only editing it for clarity/grammar/spelling. Here's a list from IMDB (includes television as well, so maybe that section of the wiki article needs to be brushed up too): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000491/ ---Achiox 20:28, 18 December 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Achiox (talkcontribs)
