The Wiki article states, "[Lawson] was the most senior officer to be killed in action during the battle and the highest ranking Canadian soldier killed in action in the Second World War." That he was the most senior to be killed in Hong Kong, I would not dispute, but I believe he is unfortunately tied with Brigadier John Napier Lane for "the highest ranking Canadian soldier [to be] killed in action in the Second World War." Lane was on reconnaissance in Belgium or SW Holland, when he and his driver drove over stacked Teller mines in their Jeep on 10 November 1944 (https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/memorials/canadian-virtual-war-memorial/detail/2641940 and https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2641940/lane,-john-napier/).
