Born?[edit]

You can't be born in 2 locations unless we have proof of reincarnation. Boils (talk) 23:27, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good spot. The guardian article already referenced in the story describes Son as "Korean-born" but neglects to mention which Korea. I found no reference to substantiate his being born in Huntington Beach. However, I will hold off changing the article for a bit in case someone can find a better reference. Plus, I'm not sure how to put in Korea without making unwarranted assumptions. gnfnrf (talk) 17:02, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Still A Guest of the State of California[edit]

stop reverting unless you can prove hes still in jail im keeping it at aquited —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.65.3.30 (talk) 04:46, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Orange County DA lists his case as active, with an upcoming mental health competency hearing in January. See p. 66 of this document. [1]. I haven't used this as a source for the article because it is primary, and I've been looking for a secondary source. But he clearly hasn't been acquitted of any charges yet. gnfnrf (talk) 05:10, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
that hearing would have been held at the beggining and a not at this time. a guilty plea or not gulty plea has to be made within a year. it has been 2 years. at the least he would have made a plea you have to list it. i dont feel there is enough proof at this time that he is currently in jail . for all we know he could be out on bail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.65.3.30 (talk) 07:14, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What do you want the article to say? I want the article to reflect the most accurate information that we can reliably source. I am seeking a reliable source that states the current disposition of his case, but I can't find one. What I do know is that he was arrested, which we have sourced, and that he has not been acquitted, for which I have a primary source. Has he entered a plea? Probably, but we can't say that in the article unless we have a reliable source. Is he out on bail? Maybe, but we need a reliable source. Is he in jail? Maybe, but we need a reliable source. We can certainly take out the "hasn't entered a plea" statement, since it is likely out of date, but we can't say that he's been acquitted (which is unsourced and apparently wrong), or speculate about the current status of his case without a source to back it up. gnfnrf (talk) 19:14, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Link to press release on his arrest[edit]

There was a press release put out when he was arrested. There are some additional details I dont know that have been mentioned elsewhere. 1) His bail was $1 million. 2) He was already in jail for a probation violation when he was arrested.

[2]

"The defendant pleaded guilty to felony vandalism on May 16, 2008, and was given 60 days in the Orange County Jail and placed on probation. The defendant was given an additional 90 days on a probation violation on Aug. 18, 2008, and taken into custody. As a condition of his original plea, Son was required to provide a DNA sample. Son’s DNA sample provided in 2008 was linked to DNA collected at the scene and from Jane Doe in 1990."

Can someone revert the last edit?[edit]

The last edit several days ago is obvious vandalism. Could someone revert it, please? I'm not sure how to. 2603:6011:F103:AE5:822:9FFF:FE83:FC67 (talk) 19:51, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should him beating his cell mate be displayed like a boxing record?[edit]

Why is his murder shown as if he was boxing in prison? It isn’t a competition or event. It was someone getting beat because of a beef. 74.192.160.169 (talk) 13:02, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Occupations line features "rapist" and "murderer".[edit]

"Occupations" is probably the wrong way to describe that. "Known for" seems like it would be more appropriate, because occupations typically refer to jobs or hobbies. Douggiejones (talk) 16:04, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
