Joe DeSantisJoe DeSantis (basketball) – In his 60 years as an actor, Joe De Santis has accumulated hundreds of credits in which he has been billed as Joseph De Santis, Joe DeSantis, Joseph V. DeSantis, Joe de Santis, Joseph de Santis or Joe deSantis. As of this writing, each man has a hatnote pointing to the other — For the actor, see Joe De Santis. and For the basketball commentator, see Joe DeSantis. However, since the actor was also frequently billed as "Joe DeSantis", links intended for the actor often flow to the baseball commentator. Since the actor, who died in 1989, still appears to be frequently accessed and the difference between the two names is only a space, the actor would seem to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for both Joe DeSantis and Joe De Santis. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 03:34, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:SMALLDETAILS. People who type the "correct" spelling are routed to the article of the same tile. Hatnotes are already in place for people who use a different spelling. The actor is only getting ~30 views/day, which is hard to justify making it the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for an alternative spelling too.—Bagumba (talk) 07:46, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Much as I hate WP:SMALLDETAILS in general, in this case it works remarkably well, and it is the policy so let us follow it. Andrewa (talk) 17:32, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
