Cod[edit]

We can say like spices, cod motivated the Portuguese discoveries. :P --Pedro 13:07, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John of Kolno[edit]

It is not possible to prove he was a pole. He is speculated to be a norwegian, a german, a pole or even Kolumbus himself. It is better to leave his nationality out here under these circumstances.--Tresckow 08:37, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Son[edit]

According to the Portuguese article, Corte-Real had a son who did later go to Newsfoundland, with, this time, amplehistorical proof. But that's in 1500, so after both Colomb and Cabot. --86.71.93.17 (talk) 20:12, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image is the same as his son[edit]

The main image of him on the page looks identical to the image of his son, in this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaspar_Corte-Real

One would expect father and son to look similar, but surely not identical! Which one of them is actually shown in the image? The image should be removed from whichever page is not the person in the image. Vontheri (talk) 20:34, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
