Untitled[edit]

I believe that this article should not be deleted because it is meant to inform the public about a very important Brazilian writer of our current era. I have just seen that Wikipedia has a Brazil Project in order to raise awareness on this country, and I believe that articles like this one are a great way to start that.

The article does not indicate how the subject is notable by Wikipedia's standards. Please see WP:N for guidelines. ... discospinster talk 21:28, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the quality of the article itself might not be perfect, as it comes from the Portuguese version of it, however, that is the reason why I classified it as a stub, so people with more knowledge on this writer can then improve the article, however if the article is deleted, the chance to inform the public about this person is lost. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Natanmda (talkcontribs) 21:30, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The author does meet the WP:N standards as he is cited by several independent publications (e.g. top newspapers in Brazil, with national coverage), but the editor who wrote the article did not cite any sources to attest it. A search in a newspaper database (Factiva) or publications like "Folha de São Paulo" or "Estado de São Paulo" for reviews and comments, enriching the -pt and -en versions of 'João Paulo Cuenca' article will probably suffice. I can improve the article in Portuguese and translate it to English in the future, but not now, as I have other priorities. Natanmda, be my guest. If you want to translate, I did something similar to an author of equivalent reputation, Daniel Galera in Wiki-pt. Please check it for reference.
