Unworthy of Publishing?[edit]

"Caught a touchdown pass and handed the ball to a soldier in the end zone during the 3rd Quarter of the "Manning Bowl" between the Giants and the Indianapolis Colts on September 10, 2006 (the day before the fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks)."

Trivia Sections[edit]

Currently, almost all of the factoids in the Shockey’s Trivia section are written as incomplete sentences. While most Good/Featured articles shun Trivia sections, the information may pose some significance, pending its verification (unless all the information was gathered from one reliable source). Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the concept of bullets and lists, which are not meant to be written in "complete" sentences. ;) As the section is written, it reads much better than redundantly writing, "Shockey has...," "Shockey was...," "Shockey's favorite...".-PassionoftheDamon 22:25, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The information covers too divergent topics (musical tastes, patriotism, friendships, romantic interests, etc.) to consolidate into a paragraph right now. Each bullet point would have to stand as a new paragraph since there is no unifying theme. Ultimately, however, consolidating the bullet-pointed 'Trivia' section into paragraphs should be the goal as more information is added.-PassionoftheDamon 20:32, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Homophobic[edit]

When I used to live in New York City, it seemed like this guy was always in the paper for saying something controversial, I think about gay people too. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm going to check it right now.

Trade to New Orleans Saints[edit]

This trade has not been finalized. Nor has it been approved by the league. Please refrain from editing until it has been. The source for this trade is of pure speculation. Neither teams website confirms it at this time. Shockey is still on the Giants roster, and #21 is still being used by the New Orleans Saints. Controversy?[edit]

I'm surprised not to see any info here about the controversy generated by Shockey while a New York Giant. A couple lines would be justified. References might include Shockey Has Been More Analyzed Than Utilized This Season, Shockey Looks to Move Past Controversy and Talkin' Trash: Jeremy Shockey. Someone with more knowledge about Shockey and/or these controversies (and interest in this) could probably do a better job adding the info than I could. If you look at the history of the article you'll see that at one point there was some more about his controversies. However, it was never really sourced correctly, and recently one editor (correctly) removed everything unsourced. But I agree, the article is lacking when it doesn't include any of the controversial stuff that he went through as a Giant. Hi, WFAN had Mr. Schwarz[sic?](I think first Steve) at about 11pm. He went into detail as to why the Giants traded Jeremy. Maybe an article will be forthcoming in the NYPost. According to Shockey's interview in ESPN he was not invited to any of the celebrations for the Giants superbowl win. So I took that part down, because it can't be positively confirmed either way since its he said/ he said. Hi, it was prolly a really good idea you fixed the week 15 ambiguity because I recently read somewhere that the nfl might be going to more weeks/more games (dont remember where) and the article was focused on the increase of injuries to the players. Ok this kind of thing is hitting Facebook big time. Some are very unhappy about this. The link posting up that he is a snitch esp. upsetting to the people who went to or are about to go to the University of Miami. I have a personal interest in this as my son is an alumnus and we are huge fans of UM. I would appreciate it if someone would make sure this article is correct and without the garbage I've just seen. Possible Vandalism[edit]

The only reference I can find to "Douglas Scappa" anywhere are sites leeching this exact feed from wikipedia: "Shockey attended the University of Miami, where he was part of the school's long tradition of star tight ends along with teammate Douglas Scappa."

Anyone know this name as being part of a "long tradition of star tight ends" at Miami?
