On behalf of the page creator, I am commenting here. This is a professional athlete. No further notability need be established.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wait a second. The article says status active, but at {{Chicago Bears roster}}, the kicker is Robbie Gould. We need to firmly establish that he was with the Bears in camp or something. If he was then, he should get a page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:59, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
He never played for the Bears, he never even signed a contract, he only had a tryout, therefore he does not meet WP:Athlete. Also just because a player spends time in camp with a team does not mean they are professional atheltes. Most of them do not ever get signed again.--Yankees10 01:06, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's true that he did not receive a contract with a professional team, but WP:Athlete also refers to competing at the highest amateur level of a sport. Collegiate football in the United States would meet this requirement as there is no organized system at an international level. Furthermore, this player played for one of the highest profile teams in the FBS conference and received decent coverage in his home state, thus raising his notoriety.-- JetsmanJ (talk) 20:33, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
