Untitled[edit]

Is it possible to get a reason from fnorp for changing Holland to The Netherlands? (jayoval 23:46, 6 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Actually, I've decided to revert the change - I've known all my life that Holland on only a part of the Netherlands. Known so long that it must have been from primary school geography! I'm happy to make the assumption that the source I took my info from also had a similar education and that the music they were talking about really was from the Holland part of the Netherlands.(jayoval 00:51, 7 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Jeannie Lewis's full name at birth was "Jean Elspeth Lewis". "Jeannie" is (or was) an epithet based on her diminutive size and/or her middle initial. She was an only child. Her father, Samuel P. Lewis, was a strong advocate of the Australian Communist Party and was heard during the 1940's on Radio 2KY Sydney. I knew her when she was an arts undergraduate at the University of Sydney in the early 1960's. Krenon (talk) 22:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE ENTRY: In fact Jean's full name is "Jean Ethel Lewis", and not Jean Elspeth Lewis as stated above. ALSO The name Jeannie came to being when Clifford Hocking, preparing PR for a Melbourne concert, suggested that Jeannie sounded better than Jean on the poster.

I grant that you are in a better position to know these things. I got her middle name from a list of the graduates of the University of Sydney, and she was commonly known as Jeannie around Sydney University in 1963 and 1964.
