Notability tag added[edit]

This article reads more like the subject's resume, and nothing in this suggests that the article meets the notability requirements. I have added the notability tag for review. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:8C69:4065:B78B:458F (talk) 18:38, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Updated old links. Added new. Disagree entirely that this does not meet notability requirements. First major press url was nearly 20 years ago, and has had over 100,000 links, etc writing about Jason Dottley since, from People, to TMZ, to OUT 100, to Advocate, to being one of the forefront men of the metoo movement. This feels like a personal vendetta and coming from someone related to the Datalounge postings occuring at the same date and time. Flannel310 (talk) 06:12, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This article needs a major overhaul by someone neutral, as there are several examples of misleading writing in the article. For instance, the play Yellow did indeed win the Ted Schmidtt Award for a world premiere play, but it was given to Del Shores, not Jason Dottley. Another example would be the link to his first single, which simply goes to the YouTube video which does not give us the verification that it was indeed his first single. However, before anyone goes to that trouble, the first thing we should do is make sure the subject meets notability requirements. Clockster (talk) 09:40, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wiki articles aren't edited or suggested for deletion because of "vendettas." This article was nominated for a notability review because it does not meet NPOV standards and is written in a highly promotional tone. Many of the citations are from articles/posts attributed to a single source - the subject of this article himself. Hopefully, some input from Wikipedia editors can help determine a path forward. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:D8FE:33D6:A2D4:6201 (talk) 15:12, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I said nothing about "vendettas" and would ask you to please reply to the correct person in the future, if you're going to insist on replying in this manner. Further, it appears that there is indeed some bizarre situation involving trolls and "vendettas" and someone trying to get this entry deleted out of spite. As much as I think I could do some decent work on this entry to get it up to speed, I'm bowing out of this nonsense and will let other, more active editors step in, if they choose. https://www.datalounge.com/thread/30947120 Clockster (talk) 19:09, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
HI @ClocksterI appreciate your stepping in. I have no idea how to handle this since I can't do anything with my own account. I would like you or someone to look at the additional threads and comments calling for readers of datalounge to forgo commenting there and instead focus on commenting on this Talk page to get my aritlce removed. I don't feel like anything else proves notability like the 3rd most visited and read gay site in the US being this obsessed with me. In a sick and not flattering way. I know you wanted to wash your hands of this chaos and I don't blame you. Can you point me in the right direction as to whom I need to contact? Thank you for keeping Wiki in order! The Ted Schmidt Award is NOT THE SAME award that Jason Dottley won, thank you very much. If you would read the entire article you would see that the play Yellow won more than just a single award, it was also produced by Jason Dottley‘s production company here is the text from the article and the link that is used as a reference on the Wikipedia page to the article. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/chris-pine-ed-harris-win-167833/amp/ “ The complete list of award recipients follows:

PRODUCTION

“Four Places,” John Perrin Flynn, Matthew Elkins, and Deborah Puette for Rogue Machine Theatre at Theatre/Theater

“King Lear,” The Antaeus Company at Deaf West Theatre

“The Ballad of Emmett Till,” Stephen Sachs and Deborah Lawler at the Fountain Theatre

“Yellow,” Louise Beard, Emerson Collins, Del Shores, and Jason Dottley for JD3atrical Productions”

Further verified by any Google search would like further verified by the Los Angeles drama critic circle further verified by the award received by Jason Dottley and his producing partners which is online. And also on the official concord page https://www.concordtheatricals.com/p/9799/yellow

This article was not written by Jason Dottley. This article is definitely overseen constantly by Jason and his management because of it people with vendettas thank you very much and anyone who can look through the editing history of this page you will see that Wikipedia has had to ban and or threatened to ban certain users for “vandalizing“ this page. You are wasting everyone’s time. No person who has had fine top 40 billboard records, one of which was top 23 of which were top 25, starred in the TV series and 16 countries, has been written about globally because he was one of the few men involved in the me to movement on the victims side, has been a member of the out 100 most enfluential people in gay culture, needs to have any nobility Determined because exist and has existed for a very long time. Flannel310 (talk) 18:06, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And yes there are quite a few typos in what I just wrote bc I am livid at this constant harassment and quite frankly have way too much to do to have to play hall monitor on Wikipedia. I have no problem having Del Shores himself comment here with his account to verify the fact that nothing has been exaggerated and in fact quite a bit has been left out concerning the work they did together. Flannel310 (talk) 18:09, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In fact for absolute clarity I’m going to change the reference to link to the direct link to the Los Angeles drama critic circle list of winners where it is clearly defined that there was a win for the production of Yellow presented to Jason Dottley his company JD3atricals and his other three producing partners in addition to, you’ll have to scroll to the bottom to get to it, the Ted Schmidt award which is a special award given every year which Del Shores received. They are not the same, they are not even remotely the same. Flannel310 (talk) 18:12, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore the reference links are not all the same and do not link directly to the subject himself. That is as clear as the day is long. If anything all of this insanity only further proves the necessity for the Wikipedia page and it’s long list of an entirely different referential links. Any page where a user has had to be banned because of vandalism, is quite easily understood to be potentially tested as a vendetta. Flannel310 (talk) 18:31, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Flannel310 appears to be the subject of this article. If not, this person is an employee or other person acting on his behalf. Having the subject of the article editing their own entry violates long established rules of Wikipedia. EDITORS, PLEASE REVIEW. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:D8FE:33D6:A2D4:6201 (talk) 19:17, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aditionally - with all due respect, many of the awards/recognitions listed are not at a level that an objective party could say is "notable." Kudos to the subject of this article for his recognition, but Wikipedia is a encyclopedia of NOTABLE people and NOTABLE accomplishments, not a list of everything a performer has ever done, or a catch-all resume for everyone who is in a particular field. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:D8FE:33D6:A2D4:6201 (talk) 19:31, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the very last comment by the user 2603:8001… Is all one needs to read to understand that this is actually a vendetta and not somebody actually concerned about Wikipedia. We do not get much more notable than 100,000 news stories, or five consecutive top 40 billboard records, or winning the West Coast equivalent of a Tony which is the Los Angeles drama critics Circle award, And if you would like a list of people with fire shorter resumes in both time and accomplishments that all have acceptable notable articles listed on this website I would be more than happy to provide that but I do not believe anyone who actually is in charge of making these decisions will agree with you. You’re also following behind existing vandalism to this page and as I stated, you don’t get to determine the value of an award or an accolade. I do believe that having a top 20 record on Billboard the most exclusive and important , And if you would like a list of people with fire shorter resumes in both time and accomplishments that all have acceptable notable articles listed on this website I would be more than happy to provide that but I do not believe anyone who actually is in charge of making these decisions will agree with you. You’re also following behind existing vandalism to this page and as I stated, you don’t get to determine the value of an award or an accolade. I do believe that having a top 20 record on Billboard the most exclusive and important charting system for recording artist in our country would suffice it alone. Being a member of the Out 100 would suffice it alone. being the star of the television series that was syndicated in 16 countries, would make this articles topic Notable on its own. But my client more so than any single one of these has a 17 year career and a stack of accomplishments and achievements each and every one cited and referenced so would you please find something else to do with your time. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you are an actual Wikipedia editor I will be reachable at my management number or email address that is within the private portion of my profile that you surely have access to. I would put it here but I do not want user 2603, someone without an actual account, to have any direct access to me. Flannel310 (talk) 00:05, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The only person with a vendetta seems to be Flannel310. This appears to be Jason Dottley himself, and again, subjects of a Wikipedia article are NOT PERMITTED to edit the article themselves. To have this grossly exaggerated reaction to an attempt to enforce general Wikipedia rules is cause for concern. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:D8FE:33D6:A2D4:6201 (talk) 04:29, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am 100% allowing the editors and people who are allowed to handle this handle this. I respect the decisions of the editors who can see for themselves that your claims are not accurate and that my references are different, not from me, and also from highly reliable sources.
