Disprove?[edit]

"Mrs. Clemens and her publishers were unable to disprove that the book was not written by the ghost of Twain" - are there too many negatives here? Wouldn't that mean that they were trying to prove the book was written by Twain's ghost? I assume it is meant to say they "were unable to disprove that the book was written by the ghost of Twain" or they "were unable to prove that the book was not written by the ghost of Twain", right?
