Untitled[edit]

Although there is not a lot of literature on James Strange French, he was a central player in the Nat Turner rebellion. He represented 23 slaves tried in Southampton County for the rebellion, including Nat Turner. And he had a subsequent career as a novelist. His relative obscurity in the historical record suggests that he needs a wikipedia entry to bring him back to attention. RalphEllison (talk) 13:47, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

For the reasons I stated above I thought that James Strange French deserves more attention than he has received. Without responding to those comments at all, someone redirected French to the Nat Turner rebellion page. I think that does a real disservice to French's importance and deprives us of the opportunity to build an entry around his accomplishments. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RalphEllison (talkcontribs) 00:54, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
