Removal of a duplicate category[edit]

User:Primefac, sorry to drag you to this, but I don't really know what venues there are for this, and the other editor has asked for a third party person. I'm really struggling with how a 17 year editor cannot take the few seconds needed to read an edit summary and then to look at the category list and see that the category removed was written twice and that no information was lost, but here we are.

TL/DR: I removed [[Category:American communists|Marxists]] (currently the last category in the list), which is also listed as the 5th category without the pipe. Piping with Marxists will not place it in Category:American Marxists if that was what is meant, nor is it helpful as a WP:SORTKEY (and per WP:SUR). Aboudaqn, Gonnym is correct; there were two instances of the category on the page and you restored the second. I have removed it again and alphabetised the list so that it is clearer what is there (or not). Primefac (talk) 10:55, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
