Incorrect redirect[edit]

In the preview for this page on Google, which shows up if someone googles "James MacDonald," it shows Pastor MacDonald's picture and infobox but links instead to James MacDonald (trade unionist) when clicked. I'm not sure if this is fixable by Wikipedia or only by Google, but I thought I should let someone here know just in case. - 2600:1702:3A0:A810:C073:CB46:11BC:FD2C (talk) 22:11, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can't replicate this, so I assume it has been fixed somehow. – Fayenatic London 09:54, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

disambiguation request[edit]

could we have a disamb. page for this pastor and the physicist:

James Edward McDonald (May 7, 1920 – June 13, 1971) was an American physicist. He is best known for his research regarding UFOs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.69.46 (talk) 04:14, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The disambiguation page James MacDonald currently covers both these people and several others.
However, the physicist should not be on that page, since there is a separate page James McDonald for the Mc spelling, as opposed to Mac. – Fayenatic London 10:04, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy[edit]

Clearly there is a narrow line to be trod here about the raised, then withdrawn, lawsuit. So contributors need to be very careful about what is added to the article and not violate Living Persons Biographies policy. Primary sources with allegations aren't good enough. We need reliable third party coverage. But equally, there is no justification for removing or obscuring facts about the case that are a matter of public knowledge in multiple reliable sources. I'm concerned that a number of recent editors seem only concerned with doing this.

Controversies are also better discussed within the body of the article, amonst other topics, rather than within separate sections. That way they are more neutral, have better context, and the reader can assess the good with the bad more accurately.

Agreed. I've merged the controversy section upward to the Harvest Chapel section, since his alleged actions there were the basis of the controversy. Flapjacktastic (talk) 13:25, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

POV vandalism[edit]

User:T.ruth3130 has just made a series of POV vandalism edits. They are inaccurate, blatantly slanted, and lacking any basis in the cited sources. I note that User:T.ruth3130 has been editing on Wikipedia since 2017 but has only ever edited pages related to MacDonald, Harvest Chapel, and associated topics. I have reverted the edits per WP:BLP. I, Saul[edit]

Jerry Jenkins wrote a novel by the title of "I, Saul" and a "James S. MacDonald" is listed as a coauthor. I would assume this is the same person, but do not want to add it without verification. Wil492 (talk) 20:21, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
