Agreed about deletion[edit]

An impressively written biography, which looks superficially to be supported by sources, but on closer inspection one suspects that this man's only long-term distinction is that he is the grandfather of a famous inventor (dare we suspect said inventor wrote the article himself?) Should be deleted?[edit]

This is a school teacher of Little to no distinction except he has the same name as a British multimillionaire. Rustygecko (talk) 19:00, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it reads (opaquely) as if he is the grandfather of that inventor but certainly nothing worth retaining a page for. The only qualifying references for notability are to the grandson. Ed1964 (talk) 10:01, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a PROD to the article. It is nicely written but I just can't see the notability. Maybe the reference in the grandson's page could be expanded slightly but Wikipedia doesn't need filling up with articles about every headmaster, every Cambridge alumni and grandparent of a notable person. The significant refs used in the page are all really about the grandson. Ed1964 (talk) 13:59, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
