According to The Greater New York Sports Chronology by Jeffrey A. Kroessler, 1) James Clark's middle initial was "A" and 2) 250,000 people lined the route of the Brooklyn Marathon on February 12, 1909. Location (talk) 21:40, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the February 6, 1910 issue of the Reading Eagle, 1) Clark set an indoor record for the 20 miler in Boston on February 5, 2010 and 2) Clark also held the record for the outdoor 30 miler at that time. Location (talk) 21:43, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the February 14, 1909 issue of the Morning Examiner, Clark's record race started at the armory of the 13th Regiment, turned around at Sea Gate, Coney Island, and then back. This was front page news at the time. Location (talk) 21:53, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
