Animation?[edit]

Does anyone have a source for what type of technique this film will use? Marionettes?Puppet animation? Amo 20:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • According to Frank Mannion, the producer, "We are using specially made 'Action Man' type action figures, and purpose built models of Hadrian's Wall, Downing Street, etc. It's live action as opposed to animation or stop motion." [1] ConDemTalk 14:39, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still none the wiser. So will they be on strings? on stalks like muppets?Amo 16:25, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think they'll be moved off camera, with devices/hands. ConDemTalk 20:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The film will use the same technique as McHenry's previous film trilogy 'Baptism of Fire' - the dolls will be manipulated by hand off-screen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.149.72.1 (talk) 08:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns over the use of screenshot images[edit]

Non-free images can be used to provide information, must be of low resolution and illustrate salient aspects of the film. The concern was raised that the captions provide a weak rationale. Comments? FWiW, this is a unique production in that the impact of the film has to rely on accurately sculpted and modelled figures, settings and military equipment. The numerous comments made by critics and reviewers who decried the cheesy effects are the reason for providing some aspect of the imagery of the film. While the historical figures have a modicum of accuracy, the fitting of uniforms and clothing is a very distracting aspect of the production, while the military equipment stands out as period-authentic in colours, markings and details.Bzuk (talk) 18:23, 23 June 2012 (UTC).[reply]

The character of Fiske[edit]

The story of American Billy Fiske is well known and the character's name was chosen because the Battle of Britain pilot was one of the few American pilots that were part of the epic battle. Changing the character to resemble Clark Gable was also used to add an identifiable American character to the cast. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 21:37, 20 October 2012 (UTC).[reply]

This is spectacularly badly written; it seems to be translated on Google or something. And how can Spall reprise the role of Churchill from the King's Speech when this film came out first? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.74.82.228 (talk) 17:12, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

It would be great if someone could add information to the star rating. 4 stars out of how many? 5? 10? 100? 2A02:8070:D1D7:8900:D0DF:B344:212:80CD (talk) 15:24, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
