Lack of Objectivity[edit]

When I read this article, I couldn't help but realize that this is hugely biased for the IUSF. While the Federation's efforts against privatization, repressive economic reforms(specially those of the J R Jayawardane Administration of the 1980s and the recent Rajapaksa administration) and it's defence of student liberties remain admirable, it's past activities are cast in a rather 'heroic' light without ever drawing attention to its shortcomings except for the little bit in the end. The article does not discuss in detail the cumbersome culture of ragging that is rife in Sri Lankan universities, which the IUSF seeks to perpetuate. It does not discuss the numerous disruptions caused to university life(academic or otherwise) by its activities and occasional violent attacks against its detractors. The article does not mention that side of the activism of the IUSF which has actually curtailed the individual student liberties of univertity students, all the while claiming to be the last bastion of these very liberties. I almost got the impression that this article was entirely contributed by one of their 'comrades'. Indula95 (talk) 11:08, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
