NN[edit]

A bit hasty with the non-notable tag...

Your intended edit is not MY link, but it IS valid. --Steve 00:49, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again, reverted nn deletion. I researched "non-notable" per wiki. To quote, "There is no official policy on notability."

User:Ifnord -- While I respect your experience serving wikipedia, your repeated deletion without participation in discussion or providing solid justification appears to be rude, arrogant, and inappropriate. I sincerely hope that this first impression is mistaken. If so, I apogize now.

On Topic: - I am not directly involved with International Mystery Shopping Alliance (IMSA) in any way. Originally I was about to delete the reference, suspecting it was bogus. On proper investigation, I discovered it was indeed a valid professional organization located using any websearch engine seeking "IMSA". The pending wiki link page had never been constructed before today. I used the web research information to construct a brief wiki article about them. It needs editing, but I doubt if it will ever be a major listing. This link needs to remain as part of the disambiguation process.

In my opinion, this reference is at least as valid as an obscure regional boarding school or silly association of chess, checkers, and go players.

Notability is a term well used and defined. The link deleted pointed to an article which was currently in AfD and it is on that page that I (and others) debated its notability. I am more than happy to discuss my actions, and indeed almost anything, on my talk page. Ifnord 16:03, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Curious that following your AfD link I can find NO mention of that article ever being discussed. Even so, it was speedy deleted because the initial article I created was deemed too much like an advert (my fault for being in a hurry).
I'm not certain that simply because an article was submitted for deletion it is automatically to be purged as a link. A rewritten article is still posssible.
The link existed on this disamb page since last Jan [06] and I was simply trying to fill a missing link. The org appears to be notable enough to justify being listed on THIS article. Perhaps I will relist it without being made a link... At this point, I don't know why I am spending so much time defending something I don't really have an interest in.... </chasing windmills>

Just in case someone feels the need to establish notability on this one... See IMSA (shopping)

another possible entry...pending notability verification[edit]

Quoted "In July 2001, Horace Mann Life Insurance Company, the Company's principal life insurance subsidiary, earned membership in the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association ("IMSA"). IMSA is an independent, voluntary association created by the life insurance industry to promote high standards of ethical market conduct in advertising, sales and service for individual life, annuity and long-term care products. To earn IMSA certification, HMLIC underwent self- and independent third-party assessments to demonstrate that it has adopted IMSA's principles of ethical behavior. HMLIC is an IMSA member for three years, after which it must demonstrate continuous improvement and repeat the self- and independent assessment process to retain its membership. As of December 31, 2002, approximately 200 of the more than 1,200 U.S. life insurance companies had earned IMSA membership."
