Massive content removal[edit]

The recent removal of a significant portion of the content in this article is, at best, unconstructive. While there is more promotional material in the article than there should be, the encyclopaedic way to resolve this is to copyedit the article to convert promotional material into encylopaedic content, not the removal of so much content that a reasonable length article is turned into little more than a stub. Despite the assertions made in the edit summaries where the content was removed, very little of what was removed was trivia, and a lot was not promotional either. The article is about an event, so it's not unreasonable to include an overview of the various elements of the event, and even some events closely related with Steamfest. --AussieLegend (✉) 05:51, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've now cleaned up the article as best as I can at this time, removing unnecessary minutiae, trivia and content that really isn't related to Steamfest. Dead links[edit]

Related to the preceding discussion, I've discovered during a cleanup of the article that most of the external links in this article are now dead. Where possible I've fixed these, but some were unable to be fixed. In accordance with WP:DEADLINK I've tagged these with {{dead link}} instead of removing the associated claims, but alternative citations need to be found, and should probably include archiveurl's as soon as possible. --AussieLegend (✉) 07:30, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
