The "similar stories" section is complete OR, as no reliable source ties this controversy with those found in the section. I propose we remove it.Bless sins (talk) 07:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As non one responded, I'll assume there are no objections (per WP:CONSENSUS).Bless sins (talk) 01:01, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I also don't think this has anything to do at all with "Islam". Muslims never demanded the prohibition of teaching Holocaust, and they certainly didn't use Islam as a justification for removing Holocaust material from the classrooms.Bless sins (talk) 01:04, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think you misunderstand OR. A story doesn't have to be tied to this controversy in order to be similar does it?. The fact that all stories were referenced means that they are not original research. Maybe the section should be removed on the grounds that it is politically incorrect, or on the grounds that it is quite understandable for any group to be offended by German Opera. :-) Francium12 (talk) 01:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How to write "antisemitism"[edit]

The correct rendering of the word for anti-Jewish hate in English is "antisemitism". In German it is "Antisemitismus". There is no hyphen in it. My personal hypothesis for the (or a) source of the incorrect spellings is MS Word's auto-correct feature. One more recent reference for the correct rendering: https://holocaustremembrance.com/resources/working-definition-antisemitism

The origin of the word goes back perhaps 100 years and was not spelled with hyphen.

In the article I have corrected one instance of the hyphenated spelling but left the other one as it is, because it is in quotation marks, implying it is quoting another source (where it may be spelled incorrectly). Dori1951 (talk) 12:01, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
