Could use some layperson-level explanation of what this is for[edit]
This article has a lot of great highly-technical language that is very specific, but it is not accessible to laypeople. The technical info should stay, but there needs to be some translation added for people who do not speak orthodontist. 130.64.22.2 (talk) 21:03, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
Edited to make it more understandable to average person and added understanding[edit]
I added content to this page that clarifies the mechanism that the appliance uses to adjust the bite and added context to other areas that could be unclear to laypeople. to accomplish a better understanding I added a Mechanism of Action section that better explains how the appliance works. I also added an advantages and disadvantages section that explains the advantages of using the appliance vs traditional removable appliances. I also made a few edits to the previous article to make some of the Orthodontic Jargon more clear. lastly, I added a small section that talks about treatment time to inform people about how long the treatment for this appliance usually lasts.
