Ryerson's official name at time of graduation?[edit]

Ryerson's name was changed from "Ryerson Polytechnical Institute" to "Ryerson Polytechnic University" in June 1993. I do not know the specific date in June.

Hayden attended Ryerson up to spring 1993. The school was definitely named "... Institute" the entire time he was attending classes. I believe his graduation (convocation) ceremony was held in June 1993 - the same month as the name change.

I recorded the original statement that Hayden graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Another Wikipedian changed this to "Ryerson Polytechnical University". This is definitely wrong as the school was never named this.

Although very unlikely, it is possible that the school's name change came days before Hayden's graduation and the new name was reflected on his degree. If someone can confirm this unlikely possibility, then please provide a reference.

Until then, I will change it to:

Hayden received post-secondary education at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (now Ryerson University) in Toronto and received a B.A.A. (Bachelor of Applied Arts) degree in Radio and Television Arts in 1993.

Citation for Hayden's death[edit]

The provided citation for Paul Desser's Official Obituary points to a cgi generated search page which is completely blank. The given url is apparently the one reached after a search on www.classifiedextra.com, which redirects to www.classifiedextra.ca for me. A search for "desser" under the obituaries in both languages returns no results on December 4th, 2006. A brief googling gave no confirmation of the report of Hayden's death. Without adequate citation, I feel that that claims of Hayden's death must be removed.

Fair use rationale for Image:Carry On Mentality (Hayden album).jpg[edit]

Image:Carry On Mentality (Hayden album).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Protection Level[edit]

Would it be reasonable to reduce the protection level on this page? Wasteyourdays (talk) 01:26, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Some caution is needed here, because the reason the page protection was added in the first place was that the death hoax crap from ten years ago (which I know you already knew about) started up again in 2018. So I've reduced it to "pending changes" — edits by new and unregistered editors requiring approval — but we can't completely drop any monitoring as long as somebody out there is this determined to claim that you're dead, because it's very likely that they'll just try again given the slightest opportunity. Even the original recipe version back around 2010 was a process of hoaxer hoaxes, Wikipedians revert, hoaxer comes back to rehoax, Wikipedians re-revert, hoaxer comes back yet again to re-rehoax, so they clearly ain't giving up.
