Description???[edit]

The first paragraph describes the 748 as "small" and "short range". When I read those words I don't immediately conjure an image of an aircraft with a 100' wingspan and a MTOW of 21,000kg with the capabililty of flying 1,700km at that weight (specs from wikipedia). I suggest these words be removed - any thoughts? It also says "was" when it is still in service. avro 748[edit]

i saw your interest on the AVRO 748 and had to ask if you have any clue on how to get the 'instruction manual ' of that plane. It's meant to be a gift to somebody that flew it. By the way i totally agree to your comments about the article.

Thai Air Force[edit]

HS 748 Series 1A[edit]

Dan Air had to operate out of the reinstated wartime airfield at Scatsta near Sullom Voe Oil base. It was short and narrow. They fitted former srs2 engines into lightweight srs1 airframes. This extra power allowed the carriage of a full load of 44 passengers on the 2hr trip to Glasgow.
