The Harris Brothers is the tag team of real-life twin brothers Don Harris & Ron Harris. During their careers, they have teamed together under many different names.

Careers[edit]

Early career[edit]

The Harris Brothers began wrestling in the Portland area in the 1980s and early 1990s in hopes of gaining a contract with a major wrestling federation. They started off in Smokey Mountain Wrestling as the Bruise Brothers (Ron and Don Bruise), where they participated in the famous "Rage in the Cage" event, where they lost to the Armstrongs and the Rock N Roll Express.

Extreme Championship Wrestling[edit]

The Harris Brothers then moved on to the independent circuit, where they gained further experience before joining Extreme Championship Wrestling. They made several appearances for ECW, appearing at:

World Wrestling Federation[edit]

The Harris Brothers then came to the World Wrestling Federation, where they were known as the Blu Brothers (Jacob and Eli Blu), sporting long brown hair and scruffy beards. They appeared at several WWF events in 1995, including the Royal Rumble, episodes of RAW, WrestleMania XI, and SummerSlam. They were almost always losing in their efforts. The team later underwent a name change and gimmick revamp, becoming the Grimm Twins (Jared and Jason Grimm).

Return to ECW[edit]

After a mostly unsuccessful run in WWF, the Harris Brothers returned to ECW in 1996, where they resumed their role as the Bruise Brothers. They participated in several ECW events in 1996, including Cyberslam, Hostile City Showdown, and Hardcore Heaven. Once again, they were almost always taking the loss for their efforts.

Return to WWF[edit]

After yet another unsuccessful run in ECW, the Harris Brothers returned to WWF, where they joined Crush and Chainz as the Disciples of the Apocalypse. They changed their appearance, shaving their heads, sporting thick goatees, and called themselves Skull and 8-Ball. The Harris Brothers finally reached a point of success, scoring major wins in the WWE at Bad Blood, episodes of RAW, Survivor Series, D-Generation X, Royal Rumble, Mayhem in Manchester, Fully Loaded, Breakdown, and Judgment Day. The course of this run lasted almost 3 years, and for the first time in their careers, the Harris Brothers sported a winning percentage above .500 in a run with a promotion.

World Championship Wrestling[edit]

In 1999, the Harris Brothers appeared in WCW as "Creative Control", a pair of musclemen who were really nothing more than corporate stooges for Vince Russo. In comparison to their previous biker look as part of DOA in the WWF, they adopted suits and ties and a clean-shaven look. They originally used the names "Gerald" and "Patrick" (as a dig at WWF stooges Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson), but later reverted to their original names. Once again, the Harris Brothers posted an impressive streak, winning many more matches than they lost.

At the end of the year, the Harris Brothers became members of nWo 2000, a reformation of the popular nWo group, and acted as enforcers of the faction (under their real names). After the destruction of nWo 2000, the Harris Brothers became hired guns working for the heel authority, which included runs working for Kevin Nash, Mike Sanders, Jeff Jarret, and Vince Russo. It was about this point that they engaged in a series of fights with the popular face tag team KroniK (composed of Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke). They remained with WCW until it folded in 2001.

All Japan Pro Wrestling[edit]

After WCW, the Harris Brothers moved briefly to Japan in November 2001 to compete in the All Japan Pro Wrestling tag team tournament. They defeated Steve Williams and Mike Rotunda, but failed to win the tournament.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling[edit]

In 2002, the Harris Brothers returned to American mainstream wrestling when they joined with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. For the first time in their careers they were mostly split up, as Ron Harris teamed with Brian Lee and Don Harris was the Head of Security for the Black Shirt Security. In October of 2002, the Harris Brothers reformed their tag team, going on another impressive run until mid-2003.

In October 2003, Ron Harris left TNA and proceeded to take a job working for Randy Savage as a bodyguard alongside former rival Brian Adams. Don Harris continued to work for TNA during this time period, mostly on-air as freelancing singles wrestler and leader of the Black Shirt Security in their feud with the Red Shirt Security.

In February of 2005, the Harris Brothers returned as a team, this time under the moniker "The Disciples of Destruction". They debuted at TNA Against All Odds 2005, defeating Lex Lovett and Buck Quartermaine. They also fought Phi Delta Slam at TNA Destination X 2005, as well as Shark Boy and Cassidy Reilly on TNA iMPACT!.
