Fair use rationale for Image:Htyta1.jpg[edit]

Image:Htyta1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. De Lane Lea image[edit]

VirreFriberg: An image or two is a nice addition to the article, but the photo that was added is of the 75 Dean Street, Soho, London, studio location. In 1966, it appears that the studio was at 129 Kingsway, Holborn, London. To be accurate, the current photo should be replaced with another, earlier photo, or removed altogether.   • I looked through it a couple of times a while back and felt it was more of a generalist overview without any information that I didn't already have access to elsewhere. There's no google preview available to me now, but I doubt if it has any better details.
  • Gotcha. I don't have access to it and probably won't buy it since it's not really relevant to the things I edit, but I figured I'd make sure you were at least aware of it.
  • The article uses British English everywhere except for one spot: in the lead, "lineup" (American spelling) rather than "line-up" (British). You probably also ought to add a Brit English tag to clarify.
  • Fixed & added temp. (typo actually, "line up" is American). How's your Cockney? I've never been able to hear what Beck is saying except "why you gotta wear ya long hair?" (he begins at 1:49 on this video[1])
  • Ah, that's funny, I didn't realize there was a noun-verb distinction for lineup/line up. The script I have on here for auto editing a page to a certain language style just changes everything to "lineup" for American English.
  • I have no idea how the various authors can hear anything. All I hear is "Why you all wear your long hair?" and maybe "crumpet".
  • In note [a], the last bit confused me. In particular: ... and in another interview, he "confirmed that Relf wrote its lyrics about reincarnation during an acid trip". Introducing the quotation with "in another interview" made me expect that you were going to directly quote McCarty, but the wording of the quotation makes me think you're actually quoting biographer Greg Russo. If you're quoting Russo, you should paraphrase the quotation or make it clear you're not quoting McCarty.

  • ... writes group chronicler Greg Russo. Having Russo's name at the end of such a long quotation made me wonder whose words I was reading. I think the attribution should appear upfront.
  • Agree, broke up and reworded.
  • Citation needed: In Vancouver, Canada, it reached No. 8 on CKLG's "Boss 40".
  • Removed. I was hoping to find a RS for this.[2] In McGinnis' "References", he links to another website that has reproduced weekly charts (not actual scanned images). No big deal, maybe add him as an external link?
  • Sure, I don't think the external links criteria apply to GAs anyway.
  • Not an issue for the GA criteria but if you were going to nominate this for featured status, I'd recommend paraphrasing much of the retrospective assessment section as it's a bit quote-heavy. A good guide is WP:RECEPTION.
  • It's a bad habit I picked up early on in dealing with a very prolific Led Zeppelin sockpuppet, who reverted everything that wasn't a direct quote. I'll try to incorporate some of the linked suggestions.
  • Copyvio only highlights quotations, indicating no copyright issues.

We can do better than yet another hook built around some critic saying something outrageous about the work given how well researched the article is. How about:

Interesting and well-written article on a song that was first overlooked and then became influential. Sources are fine, offline sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. The original hook is not up to say anything about when where what this is, - don't expect readers to know already from the title. The second does it but reads a bit complex. Some will know Jeff Beck, but will the others want to find out? Two things struck me as unusual: the double guitar lead, and the imitated European police sirens. Or what else? If nothing new, please reword ALT1 with the piece in front, - Hendrix there is a bit misleading, and would absorb all the clicks. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:37, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
