At the first mention of division point I linked point to the article "Railroad switch," but I'm not entirely sure this is accurate. I searched in vain through railroad-related articles here to try to find a definition of division point; I hope someone more knowledgeable about the railroad industry, particularly its history and organization in the U.S., can include this info. somewhere.
