POV concerns

I placed the POV tag when creating the article because it is pasted from a US government website. Because this comes from a US govt source it may not be neutral, but I don't have the expertise to judge. (Hopefully others that know more will simply remove the tag if they think the article looks okay.) Mangostar (talk) 22:53, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

This article is definitely NOT neutral! It doesn't even mention the US role in Aristide's deportation and international arm of the Republican Party's support of his opposition (as reported in the Economist), nor the US invasion of Haiti, or the fiasco involving the forced killings of so many Haitian farmers' pigs by the US - conveniently overlooked by a puff piece written by the US government. I should clarify that I'm not saying that the article isn't CORRECT, just that it is NOWHERE NEAR NEUTRAL!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.44.79 (talk) 14:17, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

This article is extremely biased, and is better covered elsewhere including here. http://www.historycommons.org/timeline.jsp?timeline=haiti A cut and paste of a U.S. Govt. website does little good to understand international history, especially where the dominant country gets such a strong edit. Haiti has been largely controlled by U.S. supported dictators and military regimes. As a direct result of the U.S. coup on Aristide, The economy has been opened and State Industries privitized, and most then closed. After opening the markets, cheap U.S. agricultural products have resulted in most of the population moving to the cities. Haiti's problems are deep, but it is largely not independent. Small government and privitization ideologues seem to have produced only desperation and corruption. The article should be shredded. Let's get an historian in here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.214.17.5 (talk) 18:01, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:39, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
