This guy was NEVER in Motley Crue, he was in a pre-Crue band with Tommy Lee (called Suite 18). Stop trying to invent a non existant 15 minutes of fame at the expense of a band he wasn't ever in. - Deathrocker 18:15, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Leon was involved with the creation of the band Motley Crue. This is historical fact. Any bio on Motley Crue notes this information. The Wikipedia page for Greg Leon states clearly that Greg Leon's 'm.o.' was that he was either in, or "involved" with, bands that went on to fame. It also states that these were questionable moves, for whatever reason, on the part of Leon. Despite this, Leon remains a name that is mentioned in Crue chronicles, web pages, bios, etc. Why Deathrocker is obsessed with changing history is beyond me. Instead of writing condescending bullshit about 'vanity', I would note that I'm not Greg Leon nor am I even in the US, and Metallicker isn't a 'sockpuppet' but a mate. A Sniper

Greg Leon was in a pre-Crue band with Tommy Lee, get that into your head please. It even states so in the article.. he never played under the name Motley Crue, he never joined a band under the name Motley Crue; thus he is not a "former member of Motley Crue". He didn't even play in Christmas (MC before the name change which Mick Mars brought).

We will see in regards to Metallicker account and the A Sniper account, funny how you both blank talkpages claiming vandalism. A case for sockpuppet use had already been filed... the vanity issue will be sorted out later & if you blank information I write on the talkpage again you will be reported for vandalism. If you have a working knowledge of the English language, Deathrocker, you'll see that nowhere on the Greg Leon page does it say that Greg Leon was ever in Motley Crue. He was involved with Motley Crue. Edit that and it will be you who are reported for vandalism. A Sniper

I have a few points to add to this interesting exchange. I agree with A Sniper's approach to the facts and rumour surrounding this individiual (GL) rather than Deathrocker, the cause of whose vitriol I don't quite understand. GL has indeed been associated with the now-well known people that are mentioned in the article, and one or two more that are not. I saw Suite 19 twice onstage at the Starwood in LA, and already knew both GL and Carl Elizondo (aka Carl James) by then. I played with these two individuals for a brief period in the 80's (along with another guitarist named Kenny) and gigged with them at both the Starwood and the Troubadour. While I was unaware of the names and eventual destinies of all the people GL played with, I was aware at the time that he was usually playing with well-known and/or respected musicians in the LA area and that he had been influential in the early stages of bands like Dokken. The Motley Crue connection is new to me, but I find it believable, regardless of what the band(s) was called at any given point. My credentials in this area of historical knowledge are based on my presence on the scene throughout this whole period. My name is Bob Loza. and I was an LA musician (bass player/vocalist) of local note at the time frames discussed here. I was a member of Razu (with Carl Elizondo), Danelectro and Even/Odd (whose members went on to become Dread Zeppelin), and shared the stage at various times with the likes of Quiet Riot, Stormer, Prime Movers, Smile, Love Razors and members of Black 'n Blue, Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden, and Satyr. Ratt[edit]

Am I missing something Alterego269 - where on the Greg Leon page does it state that Leon was ever a member of Ratt? I'm only aware that Leon jammed briefly with Jake E. Lee, and original Ratt drummer John Turner was a member of the Greg Leon Invasion in the mid-80s. A Sniper 18:41, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. to my last hasty entry: I do see that someone put a link at the bottom referencing Leon as a 'Ratt member'. Unless someone has information to the contrary, someone will have to remove the link if it proves inaccurate. sources needed[edit]

This article needs some verifiable sources. It was created almost 2 years ago and only one source is cited. I propose we move all unsourced text to a workspace and information can be moved back into the main article as sources are found to back it up.
