Naming / Lineage[edit]

I'm attempting to straighten out some of the naming of this vehicle.

I believe the official, international English name of this vehicle lineup is Poer, not Pao — the latter is simply the romanization of the Chinese name, 炮.

This, from GWM's official press release of the announcement:

GWM has chosen the name “POER” for its international pickup market. The name is inspired by Chinese character “炮” (Pao), representing the bursting energy in the concept of Great Wall Pickup that is Power, Peak and Perfect with safety and fun driving experiences under any circumstance

Can anyone confirm this?

Second, it seems GWM is attempting to establish POER as the Marque (not simply a single model) for what has until now been simply GWM Trucks — similar to their other marques of HAVAL, WEY, ORA, and TANK. Again, can anyone confirm this? — No coffee, please. (talk) 07:27, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
