Military Service Controversy

Graham Hunt of Orting listed three medals that a military personnel center has no record of him receiving. Hunt then deleted references to the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal after being askedto clarify his military service record, including a reference to having been a "combat veteran" of Iraq and Afghanistan while also describing himself as having been "wounded in combat" in his online biography.

Graham is clearly guilty of embellishment of his service at the least, stolen valor at the worst. Page flagged for repeated inappropriate deletion of biographical events.

@Justmakingedits: Could you explain why you removed this? "He deployed on active duty at a US Air Force base in Saudi Arabia for part of that time." It's sourced to the Seattle Times, which is a reliable source and says "Military records show Hunt served in the Arizona Air National Guard from 1998 to 2005. He deployed on active duty for part of that time, including a stint performing security checks at a U.S. Air Force base in Saudi Arabia." @Kendall-K1: Yes, I removed the edit because it is incomplete. I called the AFPC and in only a matter of minutes I was able to find that he did in fact deploy to more than Saudi Arabia; the AF confirmed this by issuing the GWOT-E which was for a separate deployment. They didn't update the new DD214 with overseas time because Mr. Hunt was unable to provide a travel voucher. The AFPC confirmed he was able to provide orders and proof of combat pay during that period of time but their regulatory environment won't allow them to update block 12F without a travel voucher. They will however credit him with decorations, medals, citations and awards earned for those deployments. In addition to this I was able to confirm that Mr. Hunt did not receive the Iraq Campaign Medal because he originally deployed under Operation Southern Watch which ended while he was deployed and he remained deployed under Operation Iraqi Freedom. The AFPC confirmed that he received the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border for service under both OSW and OIF, they further confirmed that it is rare for an Airman to receive a Campaign Medal in addition to this Medal. This isn't a case of stolen valor or embellishment, anybody who has served knows that things go missing and that the military isn't the best at keeping those records either. Mr. Hunt has clearly been trying to provide new documents to show this and has been somewhat successful. There are many documented cases where records have gone completely missing from the military files. That's what's called original research, and is not allowed on a biography of a living person. See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. But why change "who" back to "that"? Why remove the photo?
