Category:Mistresses of British royalty[edit]

The article states that George IV whilst Prince of Wales claimed paternity of her child. Does this not make her a Mistress of British royalty ? Lumos3 09:32, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There was undoubtedly a case, described by Horace Bleackley in his Ladies fair and frail (1909) page 244, as "the transitory whim of a versatile prince".AnthonyCamp (talk) 14:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Wyndham[edit]

The article says Charles Wyndham claimed parentage of her child in 1782. Yet none of the Charles Wyndham's mentioned here was of an age where this was possible. Is this false or was there another Charles Wyndham extant in the 1780s. Lumos3 (talk) 19:25, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Madame Du Barry[edit]

'She shared a cell with Madame du Barry...' But then: 'Horace Bleackley has shown that large sections of the journal have no basis in truth. She was never, for instance, in prison with Madame du Barry...'

Wording issues[edit]

Some of the wording/phrasing in Early Life is confusing - what does it mean that John Elliott was "an opulent physician." Further, because it does not give a clear date of marriage, the phrase "After repeated intrigues she eloped in 1774 with Lord Valentia" could be read as she jilted Elliott and married Valentia instead (the following phrase clarifies that she was married to Elliott at this point, but "elope" is colloquially used in English to mean "marry"). Elliot's daughter b. 1811[edit]

The daughter of uncertain paternity: would that be Georgiana Augusta Frederica Henrietta Cavendish Bentinck (21 August 1811 – 12 September 1883, who is mentioned in the Wikipedia article for Lord Charles Bentinck?
