Neologism?[edit]

Please see Wikipedia:Neologisms. "The use of neologisms should be avoided in Wikipedia articles because they are not well understood, are not clearly definable, and will have different meanings to different people. Determining which meaning is the true meaning is not only impossible, it is original research as well — we don't do that here at Wikipedia." Also, the blog "citations" are a problem unless you can establish the writer's expertise in his/her field. This article does not seem to have a coherent topic or coherent writing. Stringing together a series of dictionary words with wide usage in various contexts is not a good way to name a Wikipedia article unless the terms together have acquired a very clear cross-cultural meaning. Quality of sources[edit]

The quality of sources in this article seem very poor. I would tend to trust a comment from a Forrester Research analyst made on a FR blog, but OCEG's blog doesn't seem a good source -- and a paragraph here seems to be plugging this organization. The area of governance, risk management and compliance is a battleground between the marketing budgets of sector suppliers and the real need for a far more efficient and integrated grc approach. There is good material out there - but at this point it varies with each vendor and is therefore always going to look vendor biased.

Look for sources that do not make excuses for not joining up everthing to do with governance, risk and compliance. A fully integrated GRC suite uses a common application interface and data framework that can work even beyond IT GRC and cover all the governance, risk and compliance needs for an organization.

Relevance of the topic[edit]

I'm new to Wikipedia talks. I'd just like to say that the GRC topic is becoming incresingly relevant to the business community, and that this wikipedia page is providing relevant and useful information on the topic, so, even if me too think the page should be edited to be improved, I don't think it should be deleted. --Andrea.pederiva (talk) 09:04, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of Previous Comments[edit]

This page has been significantly revised from the version that generated all of the above comments. In addition, there is a consensus that this is a viable and important market area. Hence, although I did not do so, I believe that all the above comments are "out-dated" and do not reflect the current quality of this content. User:Sumner.Blount 4 Aug 2008

The current quality of the content is low to medium. This is an emerging area in business and computing. It has antecedents in legislation and industry practices. Therefore, it is less of neologism and more of an emerging term of art in a real and practical field. Honestly, if the content of this article cannot be sourced and backed up by reliable sources, it needs to be stubbed. If we can't find reliable sources, per WP:RS, then it may be too early to have this article here. Kuru (talk)

List of vendors[edit]

I've removed the list of vendors. There wasn't a single notable entry, nor a single reference. Looks like companies looking to use Wikipedia for advertising. --Ronz (talk) 23:35, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sector analysis is hard to come by and useful to have. Provided that links are removed - it would be helpful to retain a list of GRC vendors and their products. There are multiple problems here, violating most of Wikipedia's core policies (WP:NOT, WP:V, WP:OR, WP:NPOV).
