Fixes[edit]

The lead of this article needs to be reworded to be about the manga, with the character mentioned second. The rest of the article is about the various series derived from that primary source. Not to mention, most of the information in the Lead needs to be moved down: WP:LEAD applies here. —Quasirandom 20:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The too-long description of the Namco arcade game in the second paragraph is especially out of place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.140.69 (talk) 19:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

judas wasn't the 13th apostle. there were 12, and not really numbered. is this a reference to a extra biblical source? Rds865 (talk) 19:32, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Separate Golgo 13 character page[edit]

Should we do one? It might get long in the future. Not sure, there is some decent material that can used for Duke Togo. I also propose a Golgo 13 media page. Not sure if it's plausible.

This sounds like a good idea to me, he's probably the only character in the manga who does deserve one, but there's so much information covering him compared to the series as a whole, it makes sense. Tyciol (talk) 15:58, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Better wait and see if there is any further consensus. I'm too skeptical since not much info is on him. If not, then I'll probably try it soon. Ominae (talk)

Reference[edit]

I am removing the reference to Golgotha until someone provides authoritative documentation that his name is derived from the hill of Golgotha. Golgo just means skull and the damn organization's logo is a skeleton. The Japanese link referenced says absolutely nothing to the effect of Golgo being short for Golgotha, and the second link is not authoritative. There is not documentary proof that it is, I feel I have made a legitimate case that it very well could not be from that. If someone can find proof of the fact, for example from the comic/movie itself or from one of the creators, feel free to put it back with correct references. In the meantime it is both unauthoritative and incorrectly cited. 173.19.200.183 (talk) 03:59, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't there a skeleton wearing a crown of thorns in the intro to the anime? I think that's enough to make a solid assumption that this is where his name comes from. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.85.242.97 (talk) 00:11, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, plus I am not sure what OP means here about "Golgo just means skull" above. I put "skull" into Google Translate and got the following:
  • 頭蓋骨 pronounced "Zugaikotsu" (head+bone)
  • 頭骨 pronounced "Tōkotsu" (cranium+bone) (cranium is head+lid)
  • 髑髏 pronounced "Dokuro" (can't find translation of individual symbols.
None of these appear to resemble "golgo" in any way. Conversely if I run "Golgo" into the engine, it suggests:
  • ご L ご meaning "please L your"
  • ゴルゴ or gorugo meaning "Gorgo"
Would like to see sourcing for Golgo=Skull before I believe. Ranze (talk) 19:46, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No Articles for Anime?[edit]

I'm a bit taken aback that anime fans didn't long ago create separate articles for both anime features and the series. Should these in time have articles of their own, or in the very least expansions of their listings? I may even contribute to them once started. As for starting on my own...it's within my top 50 article creation goals. (Translation: I won't be doing it anytime soon as much as I might want the end result.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.254.112.19 (talk) 11:35, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

customized, scoped M16 rifle[edit]

Could we have a section discussing his rifle? Like what the manga and anime say about it, and what he has done with it?

For example: doesn't it have automatic (or at least semi-automatic) firing capabilities even though it's used for sniping? I could've sworn I remember him firing bursts at enemies. I think there was something that mentioned he has this feature in cased he is surprised during a snipe or if he needs to take out groups on the way out.
