April 2011: Gigabyte S1080 is a tablet computer powered by an Intel Atom processor. A dual booting version exists that can run Android or Windows 7.

The Following List Belong to GSmart Series of smartphones:

Available 1st segment abbreviations:

If "A" appears after the chipset code, it has the 333 onboard acceleration (USB 3.0, USB Power X3, SATA 3.0 6 Gbit/s)
If "M" appears after the chipset code, it is a mATX board
If "N" appears after the chipset code, it is a Mini-ITX board
If "P" appears after the chipset code, it supports integrated graphics with video output
If "X" appears after the chipset code, it uses advanced digital power (Z77 chipset and later) or extra features such as SLI (prior to Z77)
If "M" appears in front of the chipset number it means it is for an AMD processor, but has a non-AMD chipset
If "MA" appears before the chipset number it is for an AMD processor and has an AMD chipset (e.g. GA-880GMA-USB3)
If "E" appears before the chipset number it has Dynamic Energy Saver as energy saving method (e.g. GA-EG45M-UD2H)

Available 2nd segment abbreviations:

T - Only DDR3 SDRAM support (e.g. GA-MA770T-US3)
C - Both DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAM support
F - Includes FireWire port and header (e.g., GA-EG41MF-US2H)
No T or C abbreviations mean that the motherboard only has DDR2 SDRAM support

Available 3rd segment abbreviations:

If E - appears as the first letter in the 3rd segment (e.g. GA-G31M-ES2L), it means it has Easy Energy Saver feature
D (Ultra Durable 2) - Indicates that the motherboard uses only solid state capacitors (e.g. GA-X48-DQ6)
U/UD (Ultra Durable 3) - Introduces 2 ounces of copper for both the Power and Ground layers
USB3 - Indicates that the motherboard featured Ultra Durable 3 and USB 3.0 support
S2 (Smart, Safe) - Various features such as Q-Flash BIOS
S3 (Smart, Speed, Safe) - Same as above, but includes overclocking features
S4 (Silent Pipe, Smart, Speed, Safe) - Same as S3, but uses heat pipe cooling
S5 (CrossFire, Silent Pipe, Smart, Speed, Safe) - Same as S4, but with CrossFire support
Q6 (Quad BIOS, Quad Cooling, Quad E-SATA 2.0, Quad Triple Phase, Quad-Core Optimized, Quad DDR2 Slots) - Indicates quad-core optimization
UP Similar to UD, but with improved power regulation
# (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 9) - Compares boards of same class (e.g. GA-P55-UD3)
R - 2 extra SATA 2.0 ports and possibly RAID support. May have FireWire port. May not have ATI CrossFire support (e.g. GA-P35-DS3R)
G - Solid capacitors for the CPU Volt Regulator Module
H - HDMI port on-board
V - Includes more video outputs (i.e.: GA-G41MT-D3V additional DVI output, GA-G41MT-D3 with serial and parallel output instead)
L - Probably "Lite", meaning fewer SATA 2.0 ports, no RAID support, no FireWire ports, no ATI CrossFire support, no heatsink cooling (e.g. GA-P35-DS3L). It could also indicate Gigabit LAN (as in GA-G31M-S2L, versus GA-G31M-S2C which has support for 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet). {update: “L” / “C” / “E” / “G” means minor/customized spec change version}
P - Silent Pipe, RAID, Extra PCI Express slots, extra SATA 2.0 ports (e.g. GA-EP45-DS3P)

Available 4th segment abbreviations:

TH - Provides Thunderbolt interface
WB - Includes PCI-e x1 card with Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) interfaces including 2 external antennas.

Interview with the Vice President of Gigabyte - Motherboards

Q: "How did the sale numbers change and what is Gigabyte’s position?"

A: Gigabyte became the number one vendor in the motherboard industry since last year (2013).

Q: "So you were first to bring USB 3.0 to the market. So why didn’t we see any Gigabyte USB 3.1 [products]?"

A: Our vendors already have the controllers but they are still waiting for the certifications for this standard.

profits are larger than operating income!

I don't understand that one, they must have one heck of an accountant. I usually add financial data and link to the annual report on a company's website, which I'll do here when I have time, if anyone interested they can go ahead and fix it now. --DelftUser (talk) 15:16, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
