Possible tracing of Scott geneology[edit]

This is a very informative page about George Washington Scott. I was curious if Wikipedia people would be interested in tracing out the geneology of this Scott family (I'm currently researching the family roots of certain distinguished families in Georgia.) His father, John Scott, was a U.S. Representative, and one of John Scott's sons, also named John Scott, has his own wikipedia page. Because John Scott already had several kids before he married Agnes Irvine Scott, it's unclear to me whether John Scott II is a half-brother or full brother to George. Maybe it's worth mentioning or possibly linking.

This Article is in direct contradiction of the article on Scottsdale, AZ, which shows George W Scott, brother of US Army chaplain Winfield Scott, as being a resident of Orangedale, later renamed Scottsdale, AZ in 1888, while this bio article shows him as a resident of Atlanta.

The George Washington Scott from Scottsdale, Arizona is almost certainly a different person. Chaplain Winfield Scott (not to be confused with any of the generals by the same name) was born to James Burt and Margaret E. (Covert) Scott in Michigan and raised in Interlaken, New York. While I do not have a source to explicitly confirm details for the George from Arizona, it is a fairly safe assumption that his brother had the same parents and was raised in the same locations. --Allen3 ^talk 11:10, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
