Bath, Maine[edit]

I'm the author of this story about George F. Dole who was Louis Dole's son, nephew of the subject of this article. In my interview with him, the younger Dole told of moving to Bath at a young age (in the late 1930s) when his father, Louis, was called to the Swedenborgian church there. He said nothing of the pulpit belonging to his grandfather (George and Louis's father) but given that he eventually took over the church himself in the 1990s it does not seem unprecedented that there might be a family tradition. Is there a source for George the elder and Louis being born in Bath? Pjmorse (talk) 14:31, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Related: This article and Dole's page at Olympics.org give Dole's medal in the featherweight class, but the younger Dole was adamant that his uncle was a welterweight. I'm unclear on the distinction myself. Pjmorse (talk) 15:27, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
