Friendship with Gladstone[edit]

Although the source for the suggestion that Armitstead might have been bisexual is probably tongue in cheek, it is not beyond the realm of possibility considering Gladstone's other close male friendship with John McLure Hamilton, who never married, and the latter's close friendship with Thomas Eakins, famed for his paintings of nude males. Okay, so maybe this is bordering on original research but this much is verifiable if nothing else. Mike Hayes (talk) 16:32, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As anticipated, someone removed the juicy bit about his possible sexual relationship with Gladstone. That's fine, they can still read it here if they care to look at the discussion page. Mike Hayes (talk) 18:43, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

"(cur) (prev) 10:25, 29 April 2009 Necrothesp (talk | contribs) (6,599 bytes) ("and last" is not part of his title; it is stated later in the article that he was the only baron) (undo)"

So who do we believe, you or the reference which says his title is "1st and last baron"? [1] Mike Hayes (talk) 02:54, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
